As someone who adores cats, it’s easy to have a special place in our hearts for Maine Coon cats. They are known for their impressive appearance, huge size, and unique personalities. If you’ve had the pleasure of having one as a pet, you know exactly what I mean. In the United Kingdom, Nala and Thor are two Maine Coon cats with personalities that shine through in their photographs. Their numerous expressions reveal different moods, making them even more captivating. I discovered their adorable images on Instagram and received permission from Zoe, their owner, to feature them here. I’m confident that you’ll be just as charmed as I am by these lovely cats. Without further ado, let me introduce you to Nala and Thor!
As per their Instagram profile, these adorable Maine Coon felines are living it up to the maximum. Nala, the younger of the two at just one year old, resides with her fellow cat mate Thor, who happens to be a four-year-old black smoke Maine Coon.

Nala is an absolute bundle of joy – always brimming with energy and eager to play. Her facial expressions are priceless, and she never fails to bring a smile to our faces. It’s amusing because we’ve spent a fortune buying toys for her, but what she enjoys most are my hair ties! Nala holds a special place in our hearts because she was the smallest kitten in her litter, and no one wanted her. When we went to pick a kitten, her siblings were all lined up waiting to go home, but they kept attacking her. She was so tiny that she would hide under the table, and the breeder referred to it as her safe haven. Unfortunately, many people prefer Maine Coons for their size and physical appearance, overlooking the worth of a smaller cat like Nala. Nevertheless, we hope that our platform demonstrates that Nala is just as stunning, amusing, and affectionate as her bigger siblings.
When Nala isn’t busy being cute and playful, she also likes to show off her abilities!
Looking to learn more about the beautiful Maine Coon cat named Thor and his unique coat? I had the pleasure of interviewing his owner, who shared some interesting details about his personality. Despite his striking appearance, Thor is actually quite lazy and at four years old, he’s already older than Nala. However, when he’s in the mood to play and we engage with him, he acts just like a playful kitten. Don’t be deceived by his grumpy-looking face – Thor has a heart of gold. He loves being scratched and cuddled and even behaves like a dog in some ways. Scratch his ticklish spot on the top of his back legs and he’ll flop onto the floor, offering you his belly. Additionally, he’s always drooling and dribbling, adding to his unique charm.
Thor is an incredibly reliable feline who loves to explore the garden without any supervision. Unlike many of his cat counterparts who attempt to leap over the fence, Thor doesn’t even try. Being a big boy – weighing 9kgs (approximately 20lbs) – Thor responds well to his nickname. We have only had him since February, and although he can be shy around men, he is progressively improving each day. Thor was previously a stud cat, but his previous owner could no longer use him for breeding. However, the owner cherished him so much that he wanted him to find a new special home. Fortunately, we were lucky enough to offer Thor the loving home he deserved. It’s safe to say that Thor has the infamous “Can I speak to the manager” facial expression down to a T!
It’s truly fascinating to observe the contrasting sizes of Nala and Thor, particularly given that Nala is a Maine Coon breed. Despite her breed’s usual larger size, she appears incredibly small next to Thor!
When Nala and Thor are not busy posing or sleeping, they like to hang out together in their own catio.
